Update on Movies & Telugu Audio :)

If any one is planning to watch a hindi movie then there are two good ones released recently.

Rock On
A Wednesday - Especially this one better to watch without knowing the story :)

Coming to telugu movie audio, recently listened to the songs of Kotha Bangarulokam, couple of songs in that are good. Felt like found something decent long time after Happydays (though not following telugu audio that regularly :).

Hand Surgery in India and do's and dont's when you laptop lcd screen is damaged with water

Writing again after a long time :)
This time let me try to write about my experience of meeting a great doctor at CMC, Vellore and what to do when your laptop screen gets damaged with water, what are the dos and donts? (My own experience ofcourse).
First let me tell about one of the greatest hospitals in India, CMCH (Christian Medical College and Hospital), Vellore, TN. Our family has been visiting this hopital for quite some time now (My father used to go with my grand parents when he was around ~15 Y means some time around 1970s, I remeber visiting this hospital when I was as young as 10Y).This time we went to this hospital for consulting a doctor for my mother in Hand surgery department. I have been told that in India only Mumbai and Vellore have this specific department and the one is Vellore is the oldest.
I will try to complete this post some time later.
Under construction :(

Life in Bangalore...(Sorry Bengaluru :) ....)

Posting after a long time. Have become very busy with hectic work schedule and not able to spend time on anything else. Well this time I would like to spend some time sharing my experiences and views about life Bangalore.

Bangalore, yes it is nice city, dream city for many, green city for more but I found it little different when compared with Hyderabad. Whether is a plus, nice place for people who party and shop a lot but has its own negatives. Surely I can say that cost of living in Bangalore is more compared to Hyderabad, and of course traffic as every one knows. Believe me it is very difficult(no one will be ready to come if it is less than 2 km or so) to get autos for short distances (i.e for minimum fare of Rs.12/-). On top of it almost majority of the auto drivers have tampered meters.

Coming to the people, well I did not interact much with them but at least city bus drivers/conductors are very harsh, of course as part of their work with almost packed passengers all the time, we cannot help out I guess.

One thing I would like to point out is Corruption is relatively more in Bangalore compared to Hyderabad at least u can see it easily in Govt City buses. If say fare is Rs.6/-, pay him Rs.5/- or Rs.4/- the conductor will simply put it in his pocket and never gives you ticket. I am surprised to know that hardly there is any checking, which I have seen many times in Hyderabad. In this case BMTC (Bangalore Metro.. Trans.. Corp..) is loosing a lot of money.

Coming to the house rents, well I should say owning few houses is better than working for a MNC. For a decent 2 bed-room plot, in a good locality one has to pay 8 to 10 k p.m and on top of it you need to pay 10 months rent as advance. I guess it is pure black money that the house owners are making by renting their houses. I don't think any house owner is paying income tax giving the prompt details of rent received.

Coming to culture, well it is a truly cosmopolitan. Well, I am not going to discuss much about it.

Seems like my run has completed I need to see the timing report, if it is not meeting Oops, I need to look into it again. I have a dead line for coming week. Planning to go home this week end for Dashera (Vijaya Dasami) and yeah to Bhaskar's (my Btech class mates) marriage also. Well this week end is also going to be hectic as the one passed by. But yes I should accept that I had a lot of satisfaction in my earlier visit to places where my grand parents are though it was hectic as I covered around 700-800 km by bus (of course not straight route I went to Anantapur-Uravaknonda-Gooty-YTC (walk for an hour :(, but loved it) - Guntakal - Aluru - Guntakal-Anantapur-Uravakonda-Nandyal-Back to Bangalore). Well so for so good, got to go its already midnight 12:30.

Hope to give more update in my next posting. Feeling happy as India registered a dramatic win today, of course last the series, I felt that player like Dravid should not have been dropped, but well such treatments are required for all non-performers. But some how I never like Dinesh Karthik, one good thing about him is his attitude, good spirit, but draw backs are he is not a front-line or technically correct batsman, but should accept Cricket is a mind game, one should be very deterministic to perfom.

Well, I am trying to stop but my key board is not stopping but I have to sign off

Until next post Adieu..................

Started Swimming Again & Italian Memories

Joined for swimming again after a gap of 6 months. Hoping to continue. Last month it was a great experience a kind of once in a life time opportunity as I visited Stresa, Italy for presenting our (With Sai) paper in ACM Great Lakes Symposium in VLSI (GLSVLSI-2007). It was my first visit to any place outside India. Had really a nice time and really enjoyed my first flight journey. As I was alone felt little bit un easy initially but it was only in Hyderabad airport. Once I went through the procedures like security check, baggage checking, immigration check, customs, boarding pass, etc etc I was almost used to it, and then onwards it has become routine. Well in my entire journey luckily I did not face any problems and enjoyed visiting new places (Zurich, Swiss, Milan, Italy, Paris, France etc).

Coming to my experiences in Italy the people over there (Especially in the palce called Stresa near to Milan) are very helpful. You will not believe, if someone is crossing the road where signal light is not there people moving in vehicles (cars) will stop and make a way for you to cross the road. And yeah the kind of neatness on the roads, really amazing when you compare with our places even you hardly find any one cleaning the surroundings regularly.

Our stay (Luckily I could find 3 indian friends company) in a hotel in stresa was filled with lot of fun. Coming to the Italians one will wonder if they know that many of them (why many, most of them) hardly speak or understand english. Even many railway officials also are not able to speak or understand english. The climate was awesome. One will find good sunshine but the temperature will be hardly 10 to 15'C. Food :( yeah here I faced a lot of problem, during my entire stay I hardly took anything except french fries (fried potato). Even that also I could not get in many places, I was almost unable to make them understand what is POTATO when I need to order in few restaurants.

Coming to the conference, it was really a memorable experience. I could meet many professors in VLSI domain and I was really surprised the way they talk to students or the amount of respect
or attension or what ever we can call that they were giving to any new researcher. Got good feedback for my work and felt that lot more quality work has to be done. As told by many friends I could find many chinese professors (Mostly from US) and many chinese research students, and really it is correct that they are going to set up very high standars in terms of number of students, enthusiasm levels, kind of work etc which is difficult for any other country to achieve in recent times. It is no more US Phd grads but Chinese Phd grads are going to show greater impact on the entire recsearch community in coming years, they are really determined, and one has to be that way one should be energetic, determined to attain what ever one's goal is.

Well there is lot more to write but for now let me signoff, Adieu...

Many Friends left for Bangalore

These days campus is so dull as many of my friends went to Bangalore for their internship. They must be having a nice time at the new place, and yeah they all have become employees now, a new status which every one dreams of in thier career. As this year Felicity around expecting to meet all of them once agian. Got few publications this year in GLSVLSI, ISCAS and ISVLSI which reduced the pressure a bit. Planning to go to Italy for presenting our paper at GLSVLSI'07, if every thing works out fine. I am planning to be regular for this blog, but well it is not in my hands. That's all for now, very short one this time.:(

Probably the last outing with my Mtech VLSI Class mates @ 4 Seasons

This evening is going to become memorable event during our stay at IIIT Hyderabad. Went to four seasons for celebrating birthday party dinner (My self, Jay, Psd, Shath, and Shnk) with our friends (Sud 2, srvn, mama, raj, pav, som, rav 2, bhrth, sai, chndu, vijy and others). Really had a nice time with all the friends and ofcouse enjoyed nice food. This will be probably our last meeting during our stay at IIIT-H. Hope we will meet atleast once in a year in some common place taking at least one day off in 365 days.

Coming to the academics, felt happy after getting paper in GLSVLSI-2007, ISCAS-2007, need to capitalize on these performances.

About the institute the it seems like IJCAI-2007 conference has brought not only physical changes but also some good reputation.

Last week (Jan 6 - 10) spent time in Bangalore attending VLSI Design - 2007 and got the opportunity to meet the great, simple, humble and down-to-earth personality Lca Bni. Really one will get lot of inspiration after talking to such personalities.

That's all for now, I will try to be regular in updating the news, till then .....adieu...!!!!

Very Happy to get my First IEEE paper in TENCON-2006 and ISOCC-2006

Very happy today!!! My research paper with Sai got accepted in TENCON-2006, Hong Kong. Feeling grt to know that my work is being recognized by all. This paper was on " Temporal and Spatial coding for delay minimization for VLSI Interconnects". Earlier this week my another paper with Sai titled "Modified Area Efficient Temporal Coding Technique for Delay Minimization in VLSI interconnects" got accepted in International SoC design Conference(ISOCC - 2006), Seoul, Korea.

Also attended talk by Dr. Zafar Taqvi, NASA, USA on RFID at IIIT Hyderbad. Talk went on fine and he has given basic idea of Radio Frequency IDentification, but was not much in depth.

Today spent third day at swimming center at Gachibowli stadium, and not learning that fastly it seems. Not floating properly even on third day. Need to work on it.

well that's all for now
